In these challenging times, we’re proud to be doing our bit for our local communities by offering the use of our centres to support the Covid-19 vaccine roll out.
While we’re not currently able to welcome customers in to use our leisure facilities,
Lord Butler Leisure Centre in Saffron Walden and the Princess Royal Sports Arena in Boston, both operated by 1Life, have found another useful purpose.
The centres are being used as Covid-19 vaccination hubs; where Coronavirus vaccines are being offered to vulnerable people in key priority groups.
How our centres are supporting locally
According to a recent letter received from the Department of Health & Social Care, Lord Butler Leisure Centre is one of the best performing vaccination sites in the country!
In Boston, the sports hall at The Princess Royal Sports Arena has also been transformed into a large-scale vaccination centre to support the needs of the local community.
You can read more about how the vaccination centre has been created - and the difference it’s making - on the Lincolnshire Live website:
The Covid-19 vaccine
The NHS is currently offering the Covid-19 vaccine to people most at risk from Coronavirus.
In England, the vaccine is being offered in some hospitals and pharmacies, at local vaccination centres run by GPs and at larger vaccination centres, such as those at Lord Butler Leisure Centre and The Princess Royal Sports Arena.
You can find out more about how the vaccination programme works and which groups are currently eligible to receive a vaccine by visiting https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus-vaccine/
We’re really proud that our centres are being used as such important community hubs and that, working with our local partners, 1Life is able to play a part in supporting the vaccine roll out in these areas.
